How much would it cost to replace all the appliances in my home?
Question by Jessie: How much would it cost to replace all the appliances in my home?
My Husband wants to replace all our old appliances with energy efficient ones.. And getting quotes from companies is not my strong suit. I just need a rough estimate.
Here are the appliances we are thinking about replacing
Washer
Dryer
Refrigerator
Dish washer
Stove/Oven
Water Heater
Central AC/Heat (Just the units, our vents are fine)

I would say $ 10,000 to $ 12,000. Depending on how efficient you go
You can spend a lot of money on that stuff if you want to. My parent just bought high efficient washer and dryer. That cost them just under $ 3000 for the pair.

All this stuff is sold at Lowe’s and Home Depot, and the prices are online. Sounds pretty easy.
Most people wouldn’t change out working, attractive, appliances if they didn’t need to. But if “energy efficiency” is important, then you must have a really big electric bill, because you’re going to spend a fortune on appliances.
You need to make a budget first. How much can you spend? Then you look for those items that will work for you. I assume you’ll sell the old appliances. You might want to estimate how much money you can get for them as part of your budget.
You left out the microwave, any where from $ 130 to $ 500!
The price varies quite a bit with the brand and features. You can buy each of these for under $ 500, or each of these up to a $ 1,000 or more. A real applicance store will work with you on the price, because they know they’re going to sell a lot of stuff, and only make one trip to your house to deliver and install.
Its a very broad question. A lot depends on which kind of appliances you want to replace the old ones. There are a broad range of prices out there.
I would just get a Sears sale flyer and price them. Write it all down. Then I would get a Best Buy flyer and price them and write it all down. Then maybe go to a local appliance store and price them and write it down. This will help you determine what you want and what your price ranges are for the products you prefer.
I just spent $ 7K on a new high efficiency furnace with AC.
